Council Members and Mayor

Francine Plante raised in McGarry Township from a very young age. Attended École St-Louis in Virginiatown from kindergarten to grade 8, then attended École Secondaire Jean-Vanier in Kirkland Lake where she earned her high school diploma. She then entered the workforce and continued her post secondary education online and received her Administrative Legal Computer diploma to then receive a Bookkeeping diploma.

Councillor Plante served 7 years working at Northern Pressure Treated Wood Ltd as an accounts payable/receivable clerk to then serve 5 years working at the municipal office in the McGarry Township. She is now employed by the Conseil Scolaire Catholique de District des Grandes Rivières as a secretary for École Secondaire Catholique l’Envolée du Nord.

In past years Councillor Plante served as Co-Chair on the McGarry Public Library Board, also as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and as member of the former Property Standards Committee.

Married to Francois Plante and together are raising three children, Christina, Selena, Sébastien.

Francine looks forward to her journey as a municipal Councillor and serving the community of McGarry.
