These are unsettling times and COVID-19 is clearly impacting our personal and professional lives. We would like to wish you health and happiness through this difficult period. Please take care, stay positive and find some time for having fun and smiling. It is challenging to operate under the current restrictions, but rest assured that the Township is taking every measure possible to continue providing municipal services. We are confident that we will get through this together.
The safety and health of our community members is of utmost importance to us throughout the duration of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We are encouraging members of our community to take precautions by learning about the disease and what you can do to help protect yourself and to prevent the disease from spreading.
The Temiskaming Shores Area Municipalities are working together to ensure proper communication is made with our community members and that community partners are engaged. We are working collaboratively to actively monitor the situation as it evolves and to ensure business continuity while following direction from the Public Health Agency, the Ministry of Health and the Temiskaming District Health Unit.
Please remember that 9-1-1 is for emergency calls only. For other police matters, including those related to COVID-19, call 1-888-310-1122.
Vaccination Information |
The COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory, however it is recommended that everyone who is eligible be vaccinated.
While vaccines will be offered to everyone who wants one by the end of 2021, Ontario’s Vaccination Plan has prioritized the initial doses for those who need it most.
As information on the COVID-19 vaccines is constantly evolving it is recommended that you visit the Temaskiming Health Unit for the most up-to-date information.
You can also book your Covid-19 vaccine appointment on-line through the Government of Ontario website. If there are no available local vaccination appointments on the provincial booking portal, please check back at a later date. Once more vaccine supply is distributed locally, more appointment spots will get added. If there are no appointments left in your community, the site will direct you to the clinic closest to you.
For further information please contact a Health Unit near you.

Interactive Self Assessment Tool |
Because of the severity of a COVID-19 outbreak, Ontario has launched an enhanced and interactive self-assessment tool. This new easy-to-use tool takes the public through a series of questions to inform those who are concerned they may have contracted COVID-19.
Anyone who may have been exposed to COVID-19, have symptoms or may have travelled outside of Canada should self-isolate and use the interactive self-assessment tool or contact the Health Unit at 1-800-563-2808. |
Self Isolation and Social Distancing |
Self Isolation is required for individuals returning from international travel or who meet certain criteria, such as having symptoms or having had close contact with an individual with COVID-19. Self-isolation is staying home to protect those around you – your family, friends, colleagues - from possibly getting COVID-19.
